The Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) has awarded $14 million to 62 �鶹��-led projects, including one Partnership Grant, four Partnership Development Grants, and 57 Insight Grants. Among the recipients of new Partnership Development grants is the Faculty of Education's Associate Dean, Strategy and Transformation and Associate Professor in the Department of Integrated Studies, Prof. Joseph Levitan.

University places 30th globally and breaks into global top 10 for sustainability

�鶹�� is once again Canada’s top university, according to the 2027 QS World University Rankings released June 17. Rated 30th in the world among more than 1,500 institutions, �鶹�� remains the highest-ranked university in Canada and the only Canadian institution to hold a place in the QS’ global top 30 for four consecutive years.

�鶹�� Faculty of Education’s B.A. (Education); Major in Education in Global Contexts has been selected as a “stand out program” in Maclean’s 2026 Ultimate Guide to Canadian Universities.

Designed for students interested in the intersections of education, leadership, policy, and social change, the program combines interdisciplinary study with practical experience through a semester-long internship.

Tino Bordonaro as Chairperson of the Advisory Board on English Education

The Minister of Education has reappointed Tino Bordonaro, a Course Lecturer in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE), as Chairperson of the Advisory Board on English Education (ABEE) at the Ministère de l’Éducation (MEQ). The Board’s mandate is to advise the Minister on matters related to English education. Tino Bordonaro is grateful for the Minister’s continued confidence and looks forward to continuing the Board’s important work.

The Award for Distinguished Teaching recipient is Dr. Emmanuel Tabi, who was presented a certificate at this morning’s Spring Convocation Ceremony. The Heather Reisman and Gerald Schwartz Award for Excellence in Teaching is being given to Dr. Emma Harden-Wolfson.

The Faculty's second valedictorian from the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, Ryan, who has earned his B.Sc. Teresa Strong-Wilson (Professor, Department of Integrated Studies in Education) has received $155,478 in funding through the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) for the �鶹�� Journal of Education. The competition, which runs every three to four years, supports a select number of �鶹�� journals.
