 EMBLY FALL 2009\nMotion Re: Seafood on campus\nBe it resolved that SSMU mo
 ve towards the permanent elimination of\nthe sale of all 'Red List' fish s
 pecies within the Student Union\nBuilding\; and\, Be it further resolved t
 hat SSMU put their best\neffort into working with campus groups to pressur
 e �鶹��\nadministration to replace all of the 'Red List' fish species fro
 m\nthe menus of all cafeterias and food vendors on the �鶹�� Campus\,\nas
  well as in �鶹�� Residences\; and\, Be it further resolved that\nSSMU me
 et with all future contractors in the Student Union Building\nto insist up
 on adherence to Canada's Seafood Guide\, in order to\nfacilitate progress 
 in sustainable seafood choices with future food\nvendor contracts.\n\nMoti
 on Re: Space Efficiency in the Shatner\nBuilding\nBe it further resolved t
 hat the SSMU installs a hinged desk on the\nback of every bathroom stall d
 oor in the Shatner Building for the\npurpose of studying while 'taking car
 e of business'\; and\, Be it\nfurther resolved that installation be comple
 ted by March 1st\, 2010\,\nso that the stalls may be used for studying for
  the Winter term\nfinals.\n\nMotion Re: Porn!\nBe it resolved that By-Law 
 III-8\, Part V\, article 28 is amended to\nread:\n“28.1.The Students’ Soci
 ety shall not participate in the\nproduction\, funding\, marketing or dist
 ribution of oppressive\npornographic material for non-academic purposes.\n
 28.1.1. Activities organized\, endorsed\, or funded by the Society\,\nits 
 clubs\, or interest groups shall also abide by the above.”\n\nMotion Re: E
 nergy Usage in Shatner Building\nBe it resolved that the SSMU aim to lower
  its energy intensity to\nto 2.04 Gj per square meter\, the average for Ca
 nadian university\nbuildings \, by September 1\, 2015\; and\, Be it furthe
 r resolved that\,\nin order to achieve this goal\, the SSMU seek out a pro
 fessional\naudit of its energy usage and suggestions for reducing it\; and
 \, Be\nit further resolved that\, in order to achieve this goal\, the SSMU
 \nundertake large scale projects with a significant impact on energy\nusag
 e\, including but not limited to building renovations and\nremodeling the 
 lighting structures\n\nMotion Re: Student employment in the Shatner\nBuild
 ing\nBe it resolved that SSMU Executives be mandated by the student body\n
 of the SSMU to prioritize student employment in all future\nsub-lease nego
 tiations and renegotiations for all tenants in the\nShatner Building\; and
 \, Be it further resolved that SSMU executives\nwork to enshrine a commitm
 ent to student employment in all future\nsub-leases.\n\nMotion Re: Shatner
  Building Lease\nBe it resolved that the SSMU attempt to renegotiate the c
 urrent\nlease with Royal Institution for the Advancement of Learning\; and
 \,\nBe it further resolved that the SSMU obtain the longest possible\nterm
  of lease.\n\nMotion Re: Use of Styrofoam in Shatner Building\nBe it resol
 ved that SSMU move towards the banning of Styrofoam in\nthe Student Union 
 building by the fall semester of 2010 and replace\nthe disposable Styrofoa
 m option with a healthier alternative\, such\nas corn starch plastics\; or
  be it even better resolved that SSMU\nmoves towards institutionalizing th
 e Plate Club and supporting them\nto run for all meals\, five days a week\
 ; and\, Be it further resolved\nthat SSMU lobby �鶹�� administration to f
 ollow suit and eliminate\nthe use and distribution of Styrofoam on the McG
 ill campus\; and\, Be\nit yet further resolved that SSMU distribute inform
 ation to all\nclubs and services\, and to the student body on issues perta
 ining to\nStyrofoam and the Plate Club’s alternatives to it.\n
