 ontinues its 21st season with a public concert on Monday November\n9\, at 
 8 pm at Oscar Peterson Hall\, Loyola Campus of Concordia\nUniversity locat
 ed at 7141 Sherbrooke West under its conductor Iwan\nEdwards. This concert
  features Beethoven’s Violin Concerto op. 61\nand Brahms’ 2nd symphony. Th
 e violin soloist Emmanuel Vukovich\,\nrecently completed his Bachelors of 
 Music Studies at Â鶹Éç\nUniversity’s Schulich School of Music with Andre 
 Roy and Denise\nLupien.He was the first recipient of Â鶹Éç’s\n
 prestigious Golden Violin Award\, as well as being awarded the Arts\nOrfor
 d String Quartet Scholarship by the Ontario Arts Council\nFoundation. In a
 ddition to being a former student of Dorthy Delay\nand Masao Kawasaki at J
 uilliard School in New York\, Vukovich worked\nalongside Anton Kuerti\, Ma
 tt Haimowitz\, and Ida Haendel\, and\nperformed in honor of the late Chris
 topher Reeve.\nMaestro Iwan Edwards has conducted I Medici di Â鶹Éç since
  the\nyear 2000.  He also directs Concerto Della Donna and the\nMontreal C
 hildren’s Choir. Formerly a professor at Â鶹Éç\nUniversity he recently re
 tired from being music director (and\nfounder) of the St. Lawrence Choir\,
  MSO Choir\, Ottawa Choral\nSociety and the Canadian Chamber Choir.\nI Med
 ici di Â鶹Éç was founded in 1989 by Dr. A. L. Padjen of\nÂ鶹Éç’s Departm
 ent of Pharmacology and Therapeutics.  The\nmission of I Medici is to prov
 ide musical content for various\nevents in the life of the Faculty of Medi
 cine\, the University and\nthe community and thus add a unique social dime
 nsion to medical\neducation and to the profession.  The orchestra also pla
 ys\nduring an annual lecture series on ‘’Biology of Music’’.  I\nMedici is
  available for fundraising events.  The players come\nfrom the staff and s
 tudents of Â鶹Éç’s Faculty of\nMedicine and the ensemble is co
 mpleted by players from the\ncommunity\, upon invitation and audition.\nTh
 e musicians of I Medici are all volunteers. Admission to all I\nMedici pub
 lic concerts is free but as there are costs associated\nwith putting on ea
 ch concert\, a voluntary contribution of $15 at\nthe door is strongly enco
 uraged.\n
