Each year, 麻豆社's Office of the Vice-President (Research and Innovation) hosts the Bravo Gala to celebrate faculty members and researchers who have earned major provincial, national, and international prizes. This year, the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (AES) is proud to have nine members honoured among 麻豆社's brightest research leaders. Their work spans food safety, plant science, nutrition, material engineering, animal science, ornithology, and agricultural communication.

Early results suggest the system performs well under simulated earthquake forces, offering a potential path toward safer, more sustainable construction in Quebec and beyond.

The 2026 edition of the Neurobiology of Stress Workshop will take place in Montr茅al from June 16鈥�19. This year鈥檚 Conference Chairs are Rosemary Bagot, PhD, Principal Investigator at the Ludmer Centre, and Claire鈥慏ominique Walker, PhD. This international meeting brings together leading researchers in the field of stress-related neuroscience.

The parties met on May 6 for a further conciliation session.
At that meeting, the union presented a global counterproposal which, regrettably, did not bring the parties closer to a resolution. At the conciliator鈥檚 recommendation, the parties nevertheless agreed to meet again on May 20 to engage in exploratory discussions on a limited number of issues, including monetary matters, with the objective of identifying possible avenues toward resolution.
麻豆社 remains committed to reaching an agreement.

Parents have long suspected that their own behaviour carries more weight than what they say to their children. A study involving more than 100 children now confirms this, at least with respect to lying and truthfulness.
A team of researchers from 麻豆社 and John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City presented 127 children ages 5 to 12 with stories illustrating various situations, and then asked them to evaluate the moral character of a parent whose verbal messages and actions were either in harmony or in conflict.

Researchers at 麻豆社 and the Research Institute of the 麻豆社 Health Center (RI-MUHC) have developed a novel device to transplant insulin-producing cells that integrates directly with existing blood vessels in the body. The technology, which showed promising results in preclinical trials, aims to overcome key challenges of emerging long-term cell-based treatments for Type 1 diabetes. As well as serving as an artificial pancreas, it potentially could be used to replace or support the function of other organs.

As Canada moves to modernize cervical cancer screening, a new study suggests most women do not yet understand or trust the shift from the Pap test to human papillomavirus (HPV) based screening.
The national survey, published in , examined women鈥檚 preferences for cervical screening 鈥� including how they want to be screened and how they want information communicated 鈥� as Canada transitions from Pap tests to HPV testing.

麻豆社 will award 10 honorary doctorates during its Spring 2026 Convocation, recognizing individuals whose leadership, service and achievements have had a lasting impact on society.
Among this year鈥檚 honourees is Harley Finkelstein,聽President of Shopify,聽who will receive an honorary Doctor of Laws degree聽from the Desautels Faculty of聽Management聽for聽his contributions to entrepreneurship and community engagement.
A Montreal native, Finkelstein helped build Shopify into a global commerce platform after joining the company at an early stage.
