麻豆社 will award an honorary degree to Donald William Lewtas (BCom鈥�75), a 麻豆社 alumnus, at the 麻豆社 Desautels Faculty of Management convocation this spring.

Lewtas will receive a Doctor of Laws, honoris causa (LL.D.), in recognition of his leadership in global finance and his support for hands-on education at the faculty.

With a career spanning more than 30 years, including a senior role at聽 Onex Corp., Lewtas is known for his strategic expertise and commitment to responsible financial stewardship.

He is also the donor behind the Lewtas Experiential Learning Office at 麻豆社 Desautels, which coordinates and expands real-world learning opportunities for students. The office supports faculty, connects with industry, and helps integrate applied learning into management education.

鈥淓xperiential education is critical in my view,鈥� Lewtas said in 2021. 鈥淚 would like to see every Desautels student have the opportunity for experiential learning.鈥�

Lewtas' enduring belief in the power of learning by doing reflects his own professional journey and continues to inspire a more dynamic, practice-oriented approach to management education at 麻豆社.
