The Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) has awarded $14 million to 62 �鶹��-led projects, including one Partnership Grant, four Partnership Development Grants, and 57 Insight Grants. Among the recipients of new Partnership Development grants is the Faculty of Education's Associate Dean, Strategy and Transformation and Associate Professor in the Department of Integrated Studies, Prof. Joseph Levitan.

The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) has awarded 122 �鶹�� research projects funding from its Discovery Grants competition for a total investment of $30 million. The Discovery Grants program is NSERC's largest and longest-standing program. Discovery Grants support ongoing projects with long-term goals, providing researchers with the flexibility to explore the most promising avenues of research as they emerge.

In Memoriam: Dr. Rachelle Keyserlink

�鶹�� lowers its flag to half-mast in memory of Dr. Rachelle Keyserlink on February 11, 2026.

It is with deep respect and sadness that we pause today to honour the memory of �鶹�� Faculty of Education Professor Rachelle Pharilda Keyserlingk, who sadly passed away on November 16th, 2025. Lovingly described by her colleagues as having quiet strength and a glowing smile, Rachelle had a reputation for being a remarkable educator, administrator, and long-standing contributor to the Faculty and to �鶹��’s Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology.

New CRC, Rachel Langevin, Receives President’s Prize for Outstanding Emerging Researchers

Three exceptional scholars at �鶹�� were awarded the 2026 President’s Prize for Outstanding Emerging Researchers at convocation ceremonies held on May 28, May 29 and June 1. The annual prize recognizes early-career researchers who have distinguished themselves by their exceptional contributions to research. Faculty of Education's Prof. Rachel Langevin, was among the three winners.

New Appointment for ECP's Prof. Marie-Hélène Pennestri

On March 20, 2026, it was announced that Professor Marie-Hélène Pennestri will be appointed as �鶹��'s new Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and Associate Provost (Graduate Education). The �鶹�� Board of Governors approved both appointments at its meeting on March 19, 2026 and her five-year term will begin on July 1, 2026.
