Program Administrator

Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, Carolina Romero Martinez is passionate about supporting students and helping them navigate challenges so they can fully benefit from their educational experience. This commitment to student success led her to join the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, where she serves as Program Administrator.

Prior to moving to Montréal in 2016, Carolina spent six years working in the field of internationalization of higher education in Colombia, supporting initiatives that fostered global engagement and cross-cultural learning opportunities. After relocating to Canada, she joined the administrative team of a Montréal-based tutoring centre, further developing her expertise in student support and program administration.

In February 2018, Carolina joined the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Âé¶¹Éç. In her role, she oversees the program administration and provides operational and administrative support to ensure the effective delivery of program activities and services for Scholars.

Carolina holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and international Affairs from Universidad Autónoma de Colombia in Bogotá (2007). She also completed a Diploma in Management and Strategic Financial Planning for Professionals in the Internationalization of Higher Education sector at Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, Germany (2012).

Carolina is proud to be part of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program and strongly believes in its vision of empowering young leaders to drive positive change in their communities and beyond. She values the program’s values and finds great fulfillment in supporting Scholars throughout their academic journey. For Carolina, being able to contribute to a program that aligns so closely with her personal and professional values is both meaningful and inspiring.
