New Admits Checklist

Use these checklists to make sure you complete all required steps
before the start of your first semester.

Classes begin on Monday, August 31, 2026.

β˜€οΈ Before the semester starts

  1. 🚨 Accept your offer of admission by May 15 if you have not yet done so.

    You must accept your admission offer before you can apply for practical instruction and access the music placement exams.

  2. Check out the Get Ready information for all new ΒιΆΉΙη students from Campus Life & Engagement website.
  3. Submit a Practical Instruction Request to select the teacher you would like to take private lessons with. May 15 is the application deadline.
  4. Complete theΒ Placement ExamsΒ if you are seeking exemption from the first-year theory and musicianship courses.Β Β Students can access the placement exams online between May 4Β and June 1.
  5. Attend theΒ Registration Information SessionsΒ in late May and early June.Β Β New students may register for courses starting in early June.Β Β It is important to read the registration tips and instructions from theΒ Registration websiteΒ before registering.

  6. Submit your official transcripts, including final grades for all your courses, if you are seekingΒ transfer credits. See the Transfer Credits website for more information.
  7. Explore financial aid options from the Tuition and Funding website. An estimate of the annual fee for an undergraduate music program can be found here.
  8. Apply forΒ Student HousingΒ if you would like to live in a ΒιΆΉΙη Residence close to campus.

πŸ—“οΈ Week Before the First Day of Classes

  1. Sign up for Ensemble auditions.Β Β Visit thisΒ Ensembles pageΒ to view the audition schedule.
  2. Pick up your ΒιΆΉΙη ID card. Students need the ΒιΆΉΙη ID card to access practice rooms.
  3. Visit the Building Resources websiteΒ to find information on practice rooms, ensemble room bookings and lockers.
  4. ΄‘³Ω³Ω±π²Τ»εΜύFaculty Orientations.
  5. Complete course registrations. See theΒ Registration website for details.
  6. Reach out to Student AccountsΒ if you need help understanding the ΒιΆΉΙη e-Bill or to make a payment.
